Spring is finally peeking around the corner, and you know what that means: it’s time to gear up and get ready for the 2021 New Jersey Governor’s Awards in Arts Education! Mark your calendars, because this year’s digital ceremony will be taking place virtually on May 22nd.
This past year has posed immense challenges for arts education, but if it’s taught us anything here at the Governor’s Awards, it’s that young artists are tenacious, perseverent, and creative even through obstacles. After finding our footing last year, we’re excited to return with another digital ceremony in 2021 to celebrate the accomplishments of arts leaders and students. This year’s awards. As more details become available over the next few months, we encourage you to get ready to celebrate along with us. Recognizing achievements in the arts is vital now more than ever before.
NJGAAE Presents with Jocelyn Jeffries

We also have a new staff member joining Awards Director Priscilla Hopkins-Smith on the NJGAAE team this year – Julia Weingaertner, Arts Ed NJ’s Programs and Marketing Assistant. Julia is an alum herself, having won in 2015 and 16 with the New Jersey Speech and Debate League. She is so excited to support an organization that means a lot to her.
